Siberian Husky Breed Information

We love Siberian Huskies, for the obvious reasons. However, new Sibe families need to be aware that a Siberian is not a typical fetch-the-newspaper type of dog. That wonderful independent streak and prey drive is often lethal (to the Sibe) when they’re introduced into a family that doesn’t know what to expect. This information can help you decide if a Siberian Husky is the right breed for you. Check out these sites as they have reliable data for you to consider.

Why is Rescue Needed for Siberian Huskies?

Unfortunately, there are still families that find themselves in a real pickle with their Siberian. They try and try, but can’t figure out why the dog rips up the sofa or refuses to obey simple commands and won’t come when called. They give up on their dogs and turn them in to shelters, where more often than not their beautiful, loving Siberian is killed.

If you are at a loss for what to do with your Siberian, don’t kill your dog by turning him in to a shelter. Get help. Get your dog into obedience training, or get a trainer to come to you. If you still just can’t handle your dog, there are options. Always start by contacting your breeder. If your breeder cannot or will not help you, call rescue organizations — one is almost certain to be located near you. Contribute time and money to rescue. We can all make a difference.

Siberian Husky Rescue Groups

There are times when a Siberian becomes so wild and unruly that there is no choice but to put them down. This is why every new Sibe family needs to put a full effort into training puppies when they are young and easier to train. A well trained Siberian is a happy Siberian. His family is also happy. Additionally, a well trained Siberian is much easier to place with a new family. Train your Siberian well. It will someday save his life.
